To coincide with the launch of the debut album of the Trinidad-born American rapper Nicki Minaj this week, MAC is releasing a limited-edition lipstick that will be sold on the beauty company's website beginning on November 26.

The lipstick, designed by the diva herself, is named "Pink 4 Friday"- the same moniker as Minaj's album. "M·A·C's Pink Nouveau was my favorite lipstick for years, now it's all about Pink 4 Friday," said the singer-songwriter. The product will only be available online for four consecutive Fridays starting November 26, exclusively on MAC's website, while supplies last. "Pink 4 Friday," a bright, creamy pink hue, will sell for $14.50 USD (11 euros).

MAC (Make-up Art Cosmetics) is a leading global brand of professional cosmetics. It was created in Toronto, Canada in 1984 and is now part of The Estée Lauder Companies, Inc.

Another cosmetics company that has named and marketed its lipstick shades after celebrities is the French brand L'Oréal. Its Color Riche Star Secrets collection features seven dramatically different shades, developed by international make-up artist James Kaliardos, to embody the character of each model. The shades also take into consideration the brand ambassadors' complexion, eye and hair color. For instance, there's the soft and natural Aishwarya Beige, after the Bollywood beauty Aishwarya Rai, the fiery Penelope Red, after the sultry Spanish actress Penelope Cruz, and the shimmery Laetitia Champagne, after the voluptuous French model Laetitia Casta.
