Burberry to livestream fashion show in 3D
British fashion label Burberry will livestream its London runway show in New York, Dubai, Paris, Tokyo, and Los Angeles later this month.
Burberry's head designer Christopher Bailey is known to be at the forefront of technological innovations and the use of new media, so it comes as no surprise that it is his brand - together with Sky Television - that is premiering 3D technology for a fashion show.
"[...] This unprecedented event will enable people to experience the energy and atmosphere of this event from around the world," Bailey said. "3D technology will bring our global audience into the London show space allowing them to see the colors and fabrics, to hear the music and to be a part of that moment when it all finally comes together.''
The show takes place on February 23 at 4pm London time (at the Chelsea College of Art) and will be broadcast to a select group of fashion professionals at the Skylight Studios in New York, the Beaux-Arts in Paris (hosted by concept store Colette), The Address in Dubai, La Fabrique in Tokyo (part of the local Burberry Night), and the Milk Studios in Los Angeles (hosted by Tina Brown, a journalist for fashion blog, The Daily Beast).
If you're not lucky enough to be invited to one of these events, you can watch the show live at live.burberry.com.
The British Fashion Council previously announced that it would livestream all shows taking place at its tents February 19 - 24. Go to londonfashionweek.co.uk/digitalschedule for more information.
