Hermes ‘Wanderland’ exhibition opens in London
The Saatchi Gallery is hosting an exhibition that celebrates the ‘nature’ behind Hermès
You can now indulge in a Hermès lifestyle without the hefty price tag of a Birkin thanks to the new exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery.
The exhibition is a treasure-trove of Hermes products with over 4,000 items from the luxury French label on display.
The ‘Wanderland’ exhibition has been set up to celebrate the Parisian concept of flânerie. The theme runs throughout the French brand and highlights the appreciation of nature that has inspired the fashion house’s classic collections.
The exhibition features objects gathered from the Hermès archive, the museum collection of Emile Hermès at 24 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris and Hermès’ contemporary collections. They include classic items such as a bike, a travel writing case and a watch.

Bruno Gaudichon, the curator of La Piscine-Musée d’Art et d’Industrie in Roubaix, was commissioned to create the exhibition. He explained how the quintessentially Parisian concept was about revelling in the unexpected, “The journey through Wanderland draws its coherence from two intrinsic elements of la flânerie: dreaming and freedom of spirit.”
The exhibition will run at the Saatchi Gallery until the 2 May 2015, where it will travel to Paris in mid-September saatchigallery.com
