Lidl is cashing in on Burns Night celebration this year, by rolling out a range of traditional Scottish highland-wear for men.

The range includes kilts, available in red and black, for £29.99, and a leather sporran for just £9.99. High end versions of these accessories can cost hundreds of pounds.

Traditional ghillie shirts in black or white, complete with a criss-cross laced fastening, are also available.

To the anguish of parents across the UK, the discount supermarket is also selling bagpipes for kids for £12.99.

The range has proved so popular among party-goers preparing for Burns Night festivities, that Lidl has already almost sold out.

Lidl will also be offering its usual food bargains. Along with Aldi, the German retailer has sparked a supermarket price war as the UK ‘big four’ retailers attempt to stem the rate shoppers take their custom to the discount stores.

Scottish treats include Ben Bracken Blended Malt Scotch Whisky and McKechnie Jess Finest Scottish Haggis for only 99p will het shelves in mid-January.

Burns Night is celebrated on 25 January, to mark the birthday to Scottish poet Robert Burns. Revellers on the night enjoy national delicacies, including haggis and whisky, and recite poetry.
