The V&A has experienced record breaking advance ticket sales for the upcoming Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty exhibition.

30,000 advance tickets have been sold and pre-bookable tickets for the first five weekends of the exhibition are completely sold out.

This breaks the museum's records for most ever advance sales with the figure likely to rise with another 2 months to go before the exhibition opens.

The exhibition has been extended by 2 weeks and will now finish on 2nd August 2015 and early morning and late evening slots have also been added to help satisfy demand.

Ticker purchasers have come from around the world, a total of 57 countries including Australia, Brazil and Indonesia with highest sales outside the UK coming from the USA.

"With just two months to go, we are seeing an unprecedented demand for Savage Beauty but we also wanted to reassure people that there are still tickets available." Martin Roth, Director of the V&A commented.

"We are committed to providing access to as many as possible during its 20-week run and so pleased to now offer many more opportunities to see this magnificent show in London.”
