Shake up your spring wardrobe with this season's jungle prints

“Henry Rousseau’s primal jungle paintings really captured my imagination for cruise, that was the starting point,” revealed shoe guru Sophia Webster of her eclectic new line, which plies palm-tree motifs with painted tiger-stripes and bright, beaded trims. And it seems that she’s not the only one with exotic climes in mind, as some of fashion’s foremost designers enliven modern silhouettes with vibrant flora, fauna and big cat motifs.

At Suno, Erin Beatty and Max Osterweis added a lush spin to easy, athletic dresses and chambray culottes with herbaceous patterns. Gap struck a similar chord, painting classic grey marl sweaters and jersey crop-tops with fronds of exotic foliage for a stand-out sporty look. While French accessories aficionado, Jerome Dreyfuss, applied the theme to his signature skater shoes – a sunny change of pace to now ubiquitous white trainers.

Elsewhere, London-based label Issa took a sleek stance on the trend, adorning satin shell-tops and neat tailored trousers with giant abstract petals in a fresh palette of mint-green, coral and sky-blue. High-street favourite Zara also went graphic with greenery, sending out sharp-cut mini skirts with matching tops with swirling leaf prints (the perfect pairing to opaque tights and suede ankle boots now). While, the ever avant-garde Christopher Kane, presented an untamed, psychedelic variety of elevated denim shorts and short cocktail dresses, spliced with neon floral lace and ruched leopard-print patches – sure to be the uniform of choice for fashion-forward adventurers come spring.
