London is one of the most expensive cities in the world. But a good time in the capital needn’t break the bank.

This Christmas, you can park in one of NCP’s ten most popular London car parks for just £5 for six hours of parking at selected times during weekdays and the weekend.  To take advantage of NCP exclusive offer, go to ncp.co.uk and pre-book using promotion code LON2013. Each car park is ideally located for Christmas shopping, restaurants or the theatre. So forget the hassle of carrying your gifts on the train or the expense of hiring a cab and enjoy the convenience of driving right into the heart of London.

So, what else can you do for as little as a fiver in London this Christmas?

Hot chocolate and a pastry at Konditor and Cook –  it’s not just any hot chocolate. It is chocolate perfection. Rich, thick and luscious, these steaming cups of Heaven are made with chocolate containing 70 per cent cocoa solids, full fat milk, double cream and vanilla. Sip it slowly with a home-made mince pie in one of six London branches and you can consider your fiver well spent.

Trafalgar Square – Pop that fiver straight in the collection box because this most traditional of London Christmas experiences is free. From early December until the New Year there are celebrations beneath the massive Norwegian Spruce that has been a festive showstopper since 1947. There’s carol singing every day with performances run from 4pm to 8pm on weekdays and 2pm until 6pm at weekends.

Borough Market - London’s most renowned food market is open every day in the run up to Christmas and it’s free. The scents and sounds of Christmas hang in the air – mulled wine, gingerbread, carol singers and bell ringers. So what could you spend your fiver on? A dish of flash fried, hand dived scallops, a tasting selection of best British cheeses, or even a sparkling glass of takeaway Prosecco to take the chill off as you wander round the stalls.

Buy a bauble – Head for the high class shops for something special and a real memento of your London Christmas. Selfridges, Fortnum and Mason, Harrods, Harvey Nichols and Liberty – they all do spectacular Christmas shops jam packed with exquisite decorations to suit every taste.

Visit a Christmas market – Invest in a Christmas thrill at Hyde Park’s Winter Wonderland and spend your fiver on one of the adrenaline pumping fairground rides. Go traditional on the Helter Skelter or get your scream on at one of the scarier rides. Then treat yourself to a pretzel and a mug of Gluhwein.
