Chef Thomas Keller recreates an 11-course menu of his Michelin-starred cuisine for $835 per person at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in Hong Kong.

Chef Thomas Keller of Napa Valley's French Laundry and New York's Per Se-both three-star Michelin rated restaurants-will be the Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong's guest chef from November 29 through December 2.

A seat at Keller's 11-course dinner event over the four-day period is priced at a whopping HKD 6,477 per head-roughly $835,  not including wine. Lunch is priced at HKD 3,617 ($466.51) including wine and service charges.

Keller and his team of seven from The French Laundry will recreate his signature contemporary American fare in two of the property's restaurants-The Mandarin Grill and The Krug Room-the latter being the hotel's private dining room.

This past August, the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong invited 25 chefs belonging to the official culinary staff of presidents, royalty and other heads of state to participate in an event it called the "G20 of the Chef World." Each table, hosted by one chef, seated eight guests, and price per table, including wine and a six-course dinner, was only HKD 12,000 ($1,547.74) + 10 percent service charge.

The Four Seasons Hong Kong's two-star Michelin rated restaurant, Caprice offers a tasting menu for approximately HK 1,280 ($167.68).

At the InterContinental's Spoon restaurant, headed by nine-Michelin star-rated chef Alain Ducasse, the "Spoon Experience" tasting menu is priced at HKD 1,188 ($152.23).

According The Wall Street Journal, a "hearts of peach palm" salad and a signature sweet butter-poached Main lobster are included on Keller's event menu, both of which appear on the menus of his U.S. restaurants for cheaper.
