Despite the recent warm weather, encroaching autumn means more full bodied reds may for the table….so, here are three Spanish reds to warm ours souls, reminding us of southern Mediterranean sunshine amid September mists. And not a Rioja in sight

A simply fabulous bargain from Aldi because wines from Priorat in north-west Spain command high prices: they are sourced from low yield, ancient Garnacha vines grown in small plots at high altitudes. Big, almost untamed, earthy, plum fruit flavours here, which need to be matched with the first casseroles of the season.
