Cyberpunk 2077 trailer

Keanu Reeves will star in the upcoming game Cyberpunk 2077, he has said.

The announcement came as developers revealed a new trailer and release date for the hotly anticipate game.

It will be released on 16 April, 2020, on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, developers CD Projekt Red announced during the Xbox E3 presentation.

Microsoft showed off a long trailer for the upcoming game before the surprise arrival of Keanu Reeves, who revealed he would star in the game.

Taking to the stage to make the announcement, Reeves at times struggled to get through the presentation because of the shouts of adoration from the audience.

"The feeling of being there is really going to be breathtaking," he said while describing the open world of the game. "You're breathtaking!" someone shouted from the audience.

The trailer, revealed at E3, showed the game version of Keanu and his bionic arm, though revealed little about what he would actually be doing or even how big his role will be.

CD Projekt Red said that "In addition to his appearance and voice, Reeves is also providing full-body motion capture for the character" and that his character would be called Johnny Silverhand.

Cyberpunk 2077 can be pre-ordered now. Developer announced the game's Collector's Edition, which comes with a variety of collectibles including a statue of the game's protagonist, V.
