Games review: Prince of Persia Retro
£0.59
Format iPhone, iPod Touch
Publisher Ubisoft
Before Prince of Persia was a film and before mobile phones ruled the earth, Jordan Mechner’s rough-and-tumble royal was a PC game that never pulled its punches. With endless dungeons to navigate, tons of guards to slay and a drachonian time limit of an hour, Prince of Persiawas an exercise in treating gamers mean – and keeping them keen. So while playing the original PoP on the iPhone feels like a return to a simpler age, it’s also a blooming frustrating one. Punishing fun for less than a quid.
