PES 2016 Euro 2016 DLC will have just 15 licensed countries and one stadium
Due to licensing issues, nine nations will appear in the game with inaccurate strips and fake player names
The upcoming downloadable Euro 2016 add-on for Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 has been announced - but oddly, not all of the teams playing in this year's tournament are represented.
Only 15 of the 24 teams taking part in Euro 2016 are licensed to appear in the DLC - meaning Russia, Poland, Belgium, Ireland, Switzerland, Sweden, Austria, Hungary and Romania will appear in the game with inaccurate strips and fake player names.
However, Konami says all these unlicensed virtual teams will be "in line" with the real ones, with their overall playing styles and individual players' abilities reflected in the gameplay. They just won't look exactly as they do in real life.
The remaining teams, England, Wales, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovakia, Iceland, Turkey, Albania, Northern Ireland and hosts France are licensed and will appear more accurately, with "the latest strips and authentic player faces."
The licensing issues extend to the stadiums too - the Stade de France, which hosts the Euro 2016 final on 10 July, is the only real-life stadium to appear in the game.
The Euro 2016 DLC comes out on 24 March, and it's free for everyone who owns PES 2016 on any platform.
Alternatively, a re-released standalone edition which features both the main game and the Euro 2016 DLC will come out for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on 21 April.
Euro 2016 content will also appear on the PES Club Manager and PES Collection mobile games in the run-up to the tournament.
