The winner of a charity auction in which the prize was a coffee date with Apple CEO Tim Cook bid a staggering $610,000.

Bidding ended at 9.08pm on Tuesday, meaning the bidder and a friend will now be invited for a chat with Cook at Apple's HQ in Cupertino, California.

The auction has been running on the website CharityBuzz since April 24. It offered “the unique opportunity to have coffee with Apple CEO Tim Cook“ and the first bid was placed at $6,000.

No travel or accommodation was included in the prize, which had an estimated value of $50,000.

The auction rules stated that the winner must “conduct themselves appropriately when attending an experience won at Charitybuzz. Polite manners and respect for the generous donor and adherence to any rules or parameters are a must.”

It raised money for The RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights.

Charitybuzz CEO founder Coppy Holzman said: “We’re truly amazed by the support for the RFK Center for Justice and Human Rights through our coffee with Tim Cook online auction.”
