The website that will make your CV shudder
Are you a team player used to succeeding in a fast-paced environment with a proven track record who's looking for a new challenge? Here's a piece of advice: it might be an idea to visit cvbullshit.com before you send out your cliché-ridden CV to any would-be employers.
The bluntly named website has one purpose, which is to expose the worst cases of management gobbledygook that clogs up the average résumé, so don't expect top tips or templates to follow for applications that will land you the job of your dreams.
Having escaped censure when I ran my own CV through its BS-checker, I felt quite smug. But having put some truly shocking phrases ("going forward", "exceeds expectations" and – brr – "visionary"), I realised it's not the infallible nonsense-detector I'd hoped for. Still, it does sort the team players from the chaff.
