The Nintendo 3DS made its worldwide debut in Japan on February 26, with new owners preferring Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask as their first game.

The latest Japanese video game chart tracked game and console sales between February 21 and 27, and five 3DS titles entered the top ten after a mere 24 hours on sale.

Miracle Mask sold 119,591 copies, with all three versions of Nintendogs + Cats combining to reach 64,213.

Samurai Warriors: Chronicles, Street Fighter IV: 3D and Ridge Racer 3D followed with sales between 49,000 and 38,000.

The 3DS itself shifted 374,764 units, and those top five 3DS games totaled 316,366 sales.

Winning Eleven Soccer 3D (aka Pro Evolution Soccer 3D) lay in 15th place, Puzzle Bobble 3D (aka Bust-a-Move 3D) was in 25th, and Combat of Dinosaurs 3D was 28th.

Despite the 3DS's strong start, two Sony PSP games pushed Miracle Mask into third: total sales of Phantasy Star Portable 2: Infinity and SD Gundam G Generation World were just shy of 400,000.
