While cowboy shooter Red Dead Redemption is still subject of the most interest on gaming hints and tips site GameFAQs, and there's life left in Final Fantasy XIII's epic, it's the barely-seen Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword that trumps just released Metal Gear Solid game as the highest new entry in this week's chart on Friday, June 18.

On the afternoon of June 15, 57-year-old Shigeru Miyamoto, architect of the 15-game series, took to the stage at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles for Nintendo's press conference, broadcast live, free and made publicly available on the internet.

Despite a few technical issues that underlined his company's faith in their products, Mr Miyamoto enthusiastically demonstrated key features from the upcoming Nintendo Wii game, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

That demo and the hands-on reports coming out of the E3 event are fuelling discussion as excited gamers discuss what's in store for Zelda's intrepid hero, Link.

Hideo Kojima, the 46-year-old mastermind behind the Metal Gear Solid series, was also at E3, and also revealed gameplay features from his next work, Metal Gear Solid: Rising.

Though the series' main character is a special forces operative known as Solid Snake, Peace Walker on the PSP stars his clone father, Naked Snake, and Rising is to feature Raiden, both of whom have been controllable in a couple of other MGS titles.

Skyward Sword is due out in 2011 for Wii, Metal Gear Solid: Rising for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC is undated, and MGS: Peace Walker is out now on PSP.
