Who is Martin Shkreli?

At 32-years old, the hedge fund trader is the Chief Executive of Turing Pharmaceuticals, a start-up based in New York.

Having bought rights to the potentially life-saving drug Daraprim, Shkreli raised its price by over 5000% from $13.50 to $750 per pill.

There was twitter reaction from the likes of actress Ruby Rose and Democrat candidate hopeful, Hillary Clinton:

The decision earned him some unenviable headlines, including 'Meet the most despised man in the world' (Mail Online) and 'The most hated CEO in America' (Financial Post).

It has also been revealed that Shkreli once raised the price of kidney medication by almost 2000% in 2011.

Shkreli has since said that the cost of the HIV drug will be lowered.
