Mum accidentally gives baby fake tan while breastfeeding, other parents support her on Facebook by sharing their own silly mistakes

Any mum or dad will know that no matter how hard you try, a totally unexpected parenting fail is always waiting around the corner, as one woman found out when she accidentally fake tanned her baby.

But when Gemma Colley's photo of her son with fake tan on his fake after she breastfeed him went viral, she also saw that no parent is alone when they make a silly mistake.

Over 100,000 people liked and 40,000 people shared Ms Colley’s photo of her son’s sleepy face with fake tan encircling his mouth and nose, after she posted it to the Unmumsy Mum Facebook page.

“From one mum to another, I'd like to let you know about my epic fail of fails. Yesterday I had a spray tan, a few hours later I breastfed my little boy. Cue 5 o'clock shadow and a very guilty mummy. Lesson to you all. Don't do this,” Ms Colley wrote.

As the photo spread, other mothers quickly rallied to support Ms Colley, and shared their parenting horror stories.

“The last time I went for a spray tan, my little one was due a feed and while I was standing waiting for the tan to dry I started leaking everywhere! I was totally mortified. And yes it does take the tan off,” wrote one mother.

Another mum wrote: “We all have Mummy fails- once my son left literally unattended for 2 minutes while I washed my hands ate a whole tub of Suda-Creme. Suffice to say after my initial panic & calling the hospital... They told me he'd be fine...

“He didn't get nappy rash for a few weeks tho! As he pooped Suda-Creme! He’s now 16,” she jokingly added.

Overwhelmed by the positive comments she received and to prove her son was OK, Ms Colley posted a photo a day later of her baby sleeping peacefully without a streak of fake tan to be seen.
