How to find out your Uber rating, how much of a jerk you are

Passengers have been barred for bad ratings in the past

(Uber)

As you're probably aware by now, your Uber driver rates you after a journey just as you do them, tapping in a score out of five stars.

As well as being helpful in working out how likely a driver is to accept your fare, learning your user rating is also a good indication of how annoying you are in vehicles.

Uber has never been completely specific about what criteria drivers are rating you on, but it lists being "disrespectful" and "unsafe" as examples of behaviours that lead to lower ratings.

You could previously discover your score by desktop hacks and by emailing support, but now it's easier than ever and can be done in-app.

Simply open Uber and go to HELP > ACCOUNT > 'I'd like to know my rating'

Hit SUBMIT and your rating should be in your inbox within seconds.

Uber said in a blog post that in San Francisco only 1% of trips had ratings of 1 or 2 given out, though it admitted to having 'deactivated' badly-rated drivers and given 'inappropriate' passengers a 'cooling off period'.

In the future all this ratings business might not be necessary, as Uber plans to snap up thousands of self-driving cars.
