Tinder is one of the worlds’ most popular dating apps, using a trusty swiping system to match up relationships and flings.

However, the Tinder experience can be less than romantic for some.

According to a study by Global Web Index, there are more men than women on the dating app, with only 38% of users being female. The same study found 30% of users - who were looking to hook up with others - were married.

On anonymous confession website Whisper, users submitted some of the worst chat-up lines they’d been sent on the app.

One user recalled the time someone asked them what they’d do if they had their favourite ice cream flavour melting down their chest.
