Now in its seventh year, the Shed of the Year competition is again proving that the UK still leads the world when it comes to back garden microarchitecture.

The 2013 competition received 2,000 entries and there were 14,000 public votes leading to the eight category winners featured in our gallery above. The overall winner will be chosen by a panel of judges including Sarah Beeny, Kevin McCloud, Shed of the Year organiser Uncle Wilco from readersheds.co.uk, Alex Johnson from the Shedworking blog, and last year's winner John Plumridge. The result will be announced during National Shed Week in the first week of July.
