Sainsbury's has one of its regular 25 per cent off wine deals at the moment. You'll need to buy six or more bottles but you can take advantage either in branches or online. However you'll need to move fast: the offer ends on Sunday.

Gardens open for free visits

Looking ahead, Friday 15 April is National Gardens Open Day, when a number gardens that normally charge for entry or are closed to the public will be opening their doors for free.

Gardens taking part include RHS Garden Wisley, Woking; Tylney Hall Gardens, Hook; RHS Garden Harlow Carr, Harrogate; Ripley Castle and Gardens, also near Harrogate; RHS Garden Hyde Hall, Essex; RHS Garden Rosemoor, Devon; Dyffryn Gardens, Vale of Glamorgan; Cawdor Castle and Gardens, Nairn; Borde Hill Garden, Haywards Heath; Lindors Country House Hotel, Gloucestershire.

Save on electrical goods

Currys PC World has launched what it's seriously calling "Easter Mega Deals". Despite that over-blown hype, the offers, online and in-store, may be worth a look. They include up to £200 off Samsung kitchen appliances; 10 per cent off AEG large kitchen appliances; and up to £130 off Dyson's most powerful vacuum cleaners.
