Hotel chain Jurys Inn is targeting "stay-cationers" with a range of deals starting at £105 for a family of four.

That covers a night in the hotel in a family room plus breakfast, along with entry to a theme park such as Crealy Great Adventure Park in Exeter. Alternatively, for £136.20 there's a similar deal linked to Cadbury World near Birmingham.

Jurys Inn will also be offing 15-25 per cent off all standard room rates for hotel stays between 18 July and 7 September ,as long as you book by 24 August.

EDF launches 'catch free' fixed tariff out of the blue

EDF Energy has launched a new fixed tariff that it claims is, on average, the cheapest "catch free" fixed energy deal on the market among the big suppliers. Blue+Price Promise February 2016 costs £1,049 for a typical dual-fuel customer paying by direct debit. It replaces a previous deal that ran till August 2015.

Lift-off on cheap flights if you're part of the club at BA

If you're a member of the British Airways Executive Club and Avios Travel Rewards Programme, you can get flights for half the normal amount of Avois points from Monday.

The Avios Long Haul Flight Sale, which is launched on 30 June, offers 50 per cent off Avios on return British Airways flights taken between October 2014 and February 2015 – to more than 20 worldwide destinations, such as Dubai, New York, Los Angeles and Sao Paulo. The deal runs for two weeks.
