Barbie dances to top of the video charts

Barbie's dazzling performance as Odette in the classic ballet Swan Lake is proving a smash hit for Entertainment Rights, the owner of children's characters and brands. Shares in Entertainment Rights, which also owns Basil Brush, yesterday closed up nearly 5 per cent at 11.25p on news that Barbie of Swan Lake had debuted at number one in the children's video and DVD charts and was top of the All Category VHS chart. Barbie's previous feature films, Barbie in the Nutcracker and Barbie as Rapunzel, sold more than 5 million copies.
