Emirates airline ordered $26bn-worth of Boeing 777s at the Dubai Airshow yesterday, the largest dollar order in the aircraft maker's history.
The airline ordered an additional 50 Boeing 777s and took out options on a further 20. "This is the single largest order in dollar value in Boeing's history," said Jim Albaugh, the president of Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Emirates already has 95 777s as part of its 162-strong wide-bodied aircraft fleet. It will increase the fleet to 239 when current orders are fulfilled.
