Fashion names set to sign up to Quintain's Wembley City

A number of fashion names are set to sign up at a giant new designer outlet in Wembley, north-west London.

Listed property company Quintain Estates is developing the designer outlet and is in talks with Nike, Superdry, Reiss, Guess, Skechers, Armani and LK Bennett to take stores, while Gap and Marks & Spencer are thought to have already signed.

Several restaurant names have also already agreed to move in.

The London Designer Outlet is part of Quintain's Wembley City development, which comprises 15 restaurants and cafés, 85 shops and a Cineworld cinema. The scheme will open by the end of 2013 and is part of the 85-acre regeneration project around Wembley Stadium and Arena.

Last week, Quintain agreed to forward sell the Hilton hotel it is building there. Later phases will include flats and homes.

Eric Eastman, a retail adviser at CBRE, said: "This location allows international and London brands to open outlets on the west side of London that will not interfere with their full-price London stores."

Designer outlets, once known as factory outlets, have been outperforming wider retail. Value Retail's Bicester Village in Oxfordshire, for one, attracts top names and has been extremely profitable for investors.

Quintain would not comment on any of the retailers in talks.
