Sales of Rolls-Royce and Bentley luxury cars have soared worldwide this year, it was announced today.

Rolls' world sales in the first three months of 2000 totalled 145 - a 30.63 per cent increase on the January-March 1999 total.

Purchases were boosted by a strong performance in North America where sales rose nearly 39%.

The Bentley boom was fuelled by good UK sales which increased 63.51% in the first three months of this year.

Worldwide, a total of 329 Bentleys were sold from January to March 2000 - a 41.2% increase on the same period last year.

While sales of the new Park Ward model have driven Rolls' sales on, Bentley's performance has been boosted by the Red Label Arnage which became available in all dealerships worldwide for the first time last month.
