Marks & Spencer loses two more senior directors

The exodus of senior talent at Marks & Spencer worsened yesterday as it emerged that two directors are leaving the group.

Clem Constantine, the company’s property director, and Darrell Stein, the IT director, were brought in by the previous chief executive, Sir Stuart Rose, as part of his team fighting a hostile takeover from Sir Philip Green. The departures have come just weeks after another big-name defector, Kate Bostock, lured the womenswear design head, Neil Hendy, to Coast, following several other big departures during last year. M&S said the pair’s roles had changed because a major IT project had been delivered and the chain was not seeking as much new property space for clothing.
