New boss at Jimmy Choo
The designer shoe brand Jimmy Choo has finally hired a new chief executive – after Joshua Schulman and its joint founder Tamara Mellon both left last year.
Pierre Denis is joining as chief executive from John Galliano. He replaces Mr Schulman, who left last November, hot on the heels of joint founder and former creative director Ms Mellon, who exited when the upmarket shoemaker was bought by Labelux last May.
Labelux is backed by Germany's Reimann family who made their money from household goods giant Reckitt Benckiser. They bought the company from the private equity firm TowerBrook Capital.
Jimmy Choo, which now has 150 stores in 32 countries, started as a bespoke shoemaker in east London.
Mr Denis has had a long career in luxury goods and has worked for French group LVMH.
He will work alongside Jimmy Choo creative directors Sandra Choi and Simon Holloway.
