Paulson Europe bonus bonanza
The four partners at Paulson Europe, the UK-based arm of John Paulson's hedge fund firm, have shared a £27m annual bonus pool, even though profits fell 17 per cent in the year to end-March.
The results come after a dismal period for Paulson, one of the hedge-fund industry's biggest stars. The highest-paid partner – likely to be Mr Paulson – was allocated almost £15m. The rest is likely to have been split between partnership members Nikolai Petchenikov, Harry St John Cooper and Mina Gerowin Herrmann.
