Pinewood in Chinese film-themed joint venture

The film and TV studios Pinewood Shepperton has launched a joint venture in China, ranging from training producers to setting up film-themed entertainment outlets in major cities.

The 50-50 venture with China's Seven Stars Media was welcomed by the Prime Minister, David Cameron, who said: "The creative industries are a rapidly growing area of China's economy and will increasingly provide huge opportunities for UK companies competing in the global race. Pinewood is leading the way."

The company gave no financial details of the venture.
