Poundworld will create 1,800 jobs
Poundworld pledged to create 1,800 jobs in discount retailing yesterday as it unveiled a brand of stores to fill the gap left by Woolworths.
The 120-store business is growing its Discount UK brand, which sells products from 28p to £25, into a national chain by adding 15 stores to its 13-strong portfolio.
It plans to open another 40 shops next year, after posting a 42 per cent rise in annual sales at £133m.
