Riots set to dent hotel figures
Hotels in London were boosted by strong figures in July but are cautious about August.
In a report, PKF Hotel Consultancy Services found that in the capital, room occupancy stood at 92.5 per cent in July – up 0.6 per cent on last year. Room rates increased by 6.1 per cent. But Robert Barnard, a partner at PKF, warned: "Unfortunately the August figures may reflect a different picture. The riots could have a negative impact on hotel bookings."
