Russian deal will create jobs at GT
GT Group has won a £50m contract with the Russian car maker GAZ. The British company will supply exhaust gas control systems for a new range of heavy duty diesel engines.
The contract will help GT, which currently employs 300 in the north-east of England, to achieve its growth programme of increasing its workforce to 500 in the next three years.
The new engines will be produced at GAZ's new plant, due to open in September on the outskirts of Yaroslavl, 150 miles northeast of Moscow in western Russia.
