Tangent gets European foothold
Tangent is expanding in Europe after buying rival Goodprint for £10m. Shares in the Aim-listed printer, chaired by the former Carlton TV chief Michael Green, closed up 0.625p at 10.75p as Tangent also posted a 3 per cent rise in interim profits to £964,000.
The founder and chief executive of the group, which makes business cards and customised stationery, is Mr Green's nephew Timothy Green, who named it Tangent after the direct mail business where Michael Green made his first fortune in the 1960s and 1970s. The stock, which listed at 60p a share in 2000, has trebled since Michael Green joined the board in May.
