Tesco has delivered the strongest sales of the big four supermarkets over the last month, in the first major sign that a £1bn investment to turnaround its UK business is bearing fruit.
The UK's biggest grocer grew sales by 5.1 per cent over the four weeks to 5 August, which was ahead of Asda's 4.9 per cent growth, 2.7 per cent at Sainsbury's and Morrisons' 1.4 per cent, according to Kantar Worldpanel. The Co-operative saw its sales fall by 0.7 per cent.
