Londoners are set for another 24-hours of travel chaos from 6:30pm, when a strike over the introduction of a 24-hour Tube service is set to shut down the entire London Underground network.

But to make the second 'tubepocalypse' in a month that little bit more bearable some businesses have come up with deals that might help keep the capital moving, or at least keep spirits up.

Evans Cycles are encouraging would-be cyclists to dig out their own their own, potentially unloved bikes by offering free bike check-ups during the strike

Tune up your bike for free

Many commuters swapped a Tube for two wheels during July’s strike, sending Boris bike usage to twice the normal level.

With high demand expected again, Evans Cycles are encouraging would-be cyclists to dig out their own their own, potentially unloved bikes by offering free bike check-ups during the strike.

The company is also offering free puncture repairs at its London stores all week.

Head to the Evans site for details on its #bikethestrike offers.

Cheer up with cheap dinners out

Restaurant group ETM is tempting in tube strike travellers with 50% off diners' total food bills on Wednesday and Thursday.

ETM venues include One Canada Square in Canary Wharf, The Gun at Docklands, The Botanist at Sloan Square and The Jugged Hare close to the Barbican.

Just quote 'Tube Strike' when booking.

Some of its bars and restaurants will also give you a bottle of their Red, White or Rose wines when you buy two large glasses.

Elsewhere, Pizzabuzz in Shoreditch is giving 50% of pizzas to anyone who tweets @pizzabuzzUK using the hashtag #tubestrike on Wednesday and Thursday and Balham's The Exhibit is halving food bills on Thursday.

Relax in a rickshaw

Those choosing to walk, run or cycle to work on Thursday can shower for free at their nearest Fitness First club by flashing their oyster card at reception

Freshen up or destress at Fitness First

Fitness first is repeating the #FFKeepMoving offer that it put on during the last Tube strike.

Those choosing to walk, run or cycle to work on Thursday can shower for free at their nearest Fitness First club by flashing their oyster card at reception.

And for those who need to sweat out the stress of a complicated commute, the same process will get them free access to the gym.

Stay put with a hotel room discount

To avoid the snaking queues for buses or a wallet-emptying taxi ride home, hotel booking app HotelTonight has teamed up with the Londonist website to give readers a £30 discount on hotel rooms in the city during the disruptions.

If all else fails - there's chocolate

The people at Gett, the black taxis app, and Cadbury believe that all the extra stress created by the walkout means commuters will deserve a sweet reward come Thursday.

So they have pledged to deliver free chocolate to offices, even if the strike is called off.

They are even promising to get the goodies to destinations in the City, Chelsea, Knightsbridge, Kensington, Belgravia, Clerkenwell and Shoreditch within 10 minutes thanks to wannabe black cab drivers, who use motorbikes to train for the infamous Knowledge test.

Download the Gett app to snag a tasty treat.
