Teachers reveal the most ridiculous things parents have ever said to them
One user said a parent claimed he was 'responsible' for the childhood obesity epidemic as he gave out homework three times a week
Teachers have listed some of the most ridiculous things parents have ever told them.
In a depressing thread on social website Reddit, teachers and support staff from around the world described the weirdest, most uncomfortable, and frankly bizarre things their students’ parents have told them.
Among the gems unearthed on the comment board was one mother who believed her son, despite his violent behaviour in the classroom and the playground, was an “indigo child” who was “destined” to heal.
Another was told by a parent he was “responsible for childhood obesity” because of the 20 minutes of homework he handed to senior school scholarship students, three times a week.
Although some of the anecdotes were amusing, many were also profoundly sad with teachers expressing their depression over how some parents treated their children.
One described a situation where a mother repeated referred to her son as “stupid” and “lazy,” despite the teacher’s own assessment the boy was among the more hardworking and intelligent of his class.
A number also expressed their sadness over aspects of their industry, most notably how many parents reacted negatively to male nursery school teachers.
