How the front page of the New York Post should have looked

How the front page of the New York Post should have looked

Background: A video posted online from the Islamic State last night purportedly showed the murder of freelance American journalist James Foley.

People have been urged to not share the video or stills from it out of respect for his family and to not effectively spread the Islamic State's barbaric propaganda.

That did not stop the New York Post from putting an image of the moment of his death on its front page today, under the headline "Savages - Isis beheads American journalist on YouTube".

We do not wish to republish the front page here, but if you want to see it, visit the @nypost Twitter account.

Twitter has been suspending accounts that have tweeted graphic imagery from the video.

It remains to be seen whether the New York Post will be suspended as well.
