The social network that's worse for your relationship than Facebook

Snapchat is more likely to elicit a jealous response from your partner than Facebook, scientists have concluded.

A new German-British study, published in a peer-reviewed journal, said that the (theoretically) greater levels of privacy on Snapchat may motivate people to share more intimate types of content.

Findings show that the main difference in motives [was] that Snapchat was used more for flirting and finding new love interests, whereas Facebook was still the main social networking site used for keeping in touch with friends. Further, when presenting users with a series of potentially jealousy provoking scenarios, Snapchat elicited higher levels of jealousy than did Facebook.
