The critical mauling of The Newsroom in the US came as a surprise to followers of writer Aaron Sorkin. But the drama has now hit screens here and the reception has not been much warmer. The Telegraph called it a "peculiarly uncomfortable experience". The Times was only slightly kinder: "It was a bit like Dawson's Creek."
Tim Walker, of this parish, wrote: "This is how a newsroom ought to work, not how a newsroom actually works."
We tried to poll opinion from people working in TV news, but none of them had watched it. They must be too busy doing actual newsroom stuff.
