He’s had his own @POTUS profile for less than 24 hours and already Barack Obama is being hailed as the new Archbishop of Banterbury.

The President of the United States was welcomed to the social media site by Bantasaurus Rex, Bill Clinton.

Complete with a hashtag Eric Bantona would be deeply envious of, the former President tweeted the following regarding his wife and new presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton.

The Bantomime continued with Barack’s reply, alluding to the fact that Clinton could be set to be a ‘First Lady’ of sorts in the very near future:

Barack Obama’s press team have been quietly tweeting away at @BarackObama for years, posting everything from fist bumps with Joe Public, to important updates about the war on climate change.

But @POTUS sees the Democrat adopt a more personal tone, much to the increasing anxiety of the White House press team.

This is his very first tweet:

Hello, Twitter! It's Barack. Really! Six years in, they're finally giving me my own account.

And in case you were wondering how long he has left as President to tweet out hilarious anecdotes, pictures of cats and questionable #TBTs, there’s an ongoing countdown to remind you here.
