Christina Grimmie: Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and Pharrell Williams lead tributes to 'The Voice' singer
'I'm sad, shocked and confused'
Fellow musicians and fans expressed shock and sadness Saturday following the death of singer Christina Grimmie, who was fatally shot at a Florida concert venue.
The 22-year-old was shot Friday night, after a show at Orlando's Plaza Live venue. She later died from her injuries. The attacker shot and killed himself during the incident, police said.
Grimmie was a finalist on NBC's "The Voice" in 2014, finishing third during Season 6 of the show.
"I'm sad, shocked and confused," her "Voice" coach, Adam Levine, wrote on Instagram, in a photo posted before her death was announced. "We love you so much Grimmie."
On Twitter, Blake Shelton, another "Voice" coach, wrote that he was "stunned and disgusted and heartbroken."
Orlando Police Chief John Mina said at a news conference on Saturday that the suspect, who was armed with handguns and a hunting knife, had traveled to Orlando -- apparently to shoot Grimmie.
"There's no indication that he knew her," Mina said.
Grimmie was a YouTube star before she landed on "The Voice." Saturday, the video-sharing platform paid tribute to Grimmie.
