David Cameron spent New Year's Eve 'dad dancing' with Blur's Alex James

What were you doing before the bell struck midnight on New Year’s Eve?

Chances are, your plans weren’t nearly as almost cool as David Cameron’s were.

The Prime Minister spent the evening further attempting to insert “still has great taste in music from two decades ago” among his imaginary list of 2015 credentials by “dad dancing” with Alex James from Blur.

Yes, the same Alex James that used to chug along on bass to Parklife with Damon Albarn, but now makes cheese for a living (same, same, but different).

According to The Sun, the Conservative leader attended an “old school disco-style” party in Oxfordshire with his wife Samantha, where he was very nearly, but not quite, cajoled into a spot of karaoke.

“Alex kept trying to get [Cameron] to sing karaoke and looked like he was almost persuaded,” an eye witness was quoted by the tabloid as saying. “But that was the point he realised it was probably time to go home.

“Samantha was a great laugh and dancing around. It looked like she was playing a leg as a guitar at one point.”

Other famous faces included Spandeau Ballet’s Gary Kemp.
