David Gest dead: Watch the moment the entertainer was brought to tears by compliments on 'I’m A Celebrity'
“These kids are so unbelievably wonderful; it was very, very emotional for me to hear this stuff. I’m just so moved.”
David Gest was not shy of a reality television appearance and his most memorable stint arguably came on ITV’s I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!
Gest was the fourth runner-up in the 2006 series of the show and proved to be a popular contestant.
The video above shows his fellow camp mates pay tribute to his entertaining and endearing personality.
Former EastEnders actor, Dean Gaffney, said: “We all have preconceptions – when you see a line-up of a show. We all see names. And being honest when I saw David’s name, I was surprised. I thought he might last a couple days but coming in here… I’ve had the funniest experience of my life.”
“It’s just been a laugh. You are very witty. And the fact you’re still in here means a f*****g lot. Well done.”
In private, Gest was moved to tears by his camp mates’ complements.
“It’s strange to hear people… out of their best moments say I gave them some joy… I just kind-of so moved by what these people have said.”
