Dizzee Rascal has joined the campaign to find Bristol veteran DJ Derek, who has now been missing for three weeks, as the investigationinto the man's whereabouts has been upgraded to 'severe'.

73-year-old Derek Serpell-Morris is a cult figure in Bristol’s music scene and was reported missing to police after not being seen for three weeks.

Now, Dizzee Rascal has spoken out in support of the search to find Derek, who appeared with the rapper in the music video for his single ‘Dirtee Disco’.

Police are also liaising with Wetherspoons pubs after it was revealed the DJ likes to enjoy visiting newly opened branches of the pub chain.

According to The Bristol Post, The search for the DJ has been upgraded to 'severe' after police revealled there had been no activity in his bank account while he has been missing.

The contents of his fridge also indicated he had not been back to his flat, they said.

Jennifer Griffiths, DJ Derek’s niece, told The Independent that her uncle failed to answer messages from the family, and a local bar even rang her to say they hadn’t seen him.

“The response has been absolutely amazing,” she said. “The people of Bristol have got together and supported us.”

If you have any information regarding Mr Serbell-Morris’s whereabouts, please contact Somerset and Avon police on 101 quoting reference MP 3388/15.
