Maye Musk, the mother of tech entrepreneur Elon Musk, has recommended the one, slightly offbeat, food you should eat if you want to live longer.
Speaking to The Cut, the 67-year-old model and dietician revealed her number one “wellness shortcut” to be a “cup of beans”.
Explaining the process, she said: “I take 12-bean soup mixes, soak the beans overnight, boil them up, add tomatoes and flavouring and freeze it. I’ll have a cup a day. It’s very nutritious. A report came out that people who lived the longest had a cup of beans a day.”
She also went on to list how the beans really are a vital part of her daily diet: “I’ll do egg on toast, lots of fruit and vegetables, and beans.”

However, she isn’t one for catching on to the latest health fads, shooting down the dairy alternative almond milk (“Almond milk is not a milk; it’s not a beverage really”) and said: “I don’t do a lot of fad diets or supplements, and don’t recommend that. I don’t recommend being gluten-free unless you have sensitivity.”
Maye has modelled for over fifty years including for brands like Revlon and Clinique. She is also the matriarch of the “first family of tech”, as dubbed by Vanity Fair, which includes her children Elon, Tosca and Kimbal.
The most famous is Elon who is the founder of SpaceX, Tesla Motors and co-founder of PayPal. According to Forbes he is worth $13.7 billion and was recently included in the 100 richest individuals in the world. On Monday he announced his divorce from Talulah Riley, which will be the second time the couple divorce after previously divorcing in 2012 and re-marrying in 2013.
