The rotor blades of a drone sliced singer Enrique Iglesias’s fingers when he reached up to touch it during a concert in Mexico.
However the singer carried on with the performance in Tijuana on Saturday night despite a considerable amount of blood coming from the wound.
“During the show a drone is used to get crowd shots and some nights Enrique grabs the drone to give the audience a Point of View shot. Something went wrong and he had an accident,” Iglesias’ representative said in a statement to Rolling Stone magazine.
“He was semi-treated by crew on the side of the stage to try and stop the bleeding. He was advised to stop the show.
“He decided to go on and continued playing for 30 minutes while the bleeding continued throughout the show.”
After sustaining the injury, he threw the drone to the ground as blood soaked his white T-shirt.
The rudimentary bandage failed to stem the flow and one witness said Iglesias appeared to draw a heart in his own blood on his T-shirt as he carried on singing to the 12,000-strong crowd.
USA Today reported that he later flew back to Los Angeles for specialist treatment.
