Freddie Gibbs shot at after Brooklyn show: 'They tried to kill Tupac, they tried to kill me, I’m still alive'

Two members of Freddie Gibbs have been shot in what is believed to be a rap beef at a show in Brooklyn, New York.

Gibbs claims he was the target of the shots following his Rough Trade gig, which were aimed at the black GMC Denali he was sitting in on North 9th Street near Wythe Avenue in Williamsburg.

"They tried to kill Tupac. They tried to kill me," the rapper told The NY Post who were at the scene. "I’m still alive."

Gang violence was a prominent on Gibbs' most recent album Piñata, which many saw as the best hip hop album of year.

Police say a gunmen stalked the victim and opened fire at 1:13am, hitting one in the leg and the other in the end, though neither were seriously wounded.

Gibbs ducked for cover in Rough Trade, according to the NY Times, while the two men hit were taken to Bellevue Hospital where they remain in a stable condition.

Police did not identify the victims and no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
