The Great British Bake Off hosts Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins say they narrowly escaped a run-in with the police after taking their co-host’s car as a joke and accidentally driving it into a ditch.
Perkins told HeatWorld the pair took Hollywood’s keys and decided to take his Aston Martin for a drive as a prank.
“I nicked the key off [Paul] and we just drove off,” she was quoted by the magazine as saying.
“I’d never driven an Aston Martin before. We couldn’t turn it on but eventually it went…and we drove it into a ditch and had to phone a garage.”
She added: “Paul had the most spectacular humour failure I’ve ever seen. He was going to phone the police!”
Hollywood, however, was apparently unaware of the incident.

“There was a police officer escorting me out towards my car,” he told Jonathan Ross after the incident. "And I was with security and they said, ‘Your car is over there Mr Hollywood… have you noticed what’s on your car?’
“I said, ‘What do you mean?’ they said, ‘Someone has written on your car… Mary has written on your car!’”
